Update will prevent jailbreaking

The forthcoming update to Windows Phone 7, which should feature the much awaited copy and paste functionality, will prevent users from jailbreaking their phones.

ChevronWP7 was an app which allowed users to install non-marketplace apps by tricking the system into thinking that it was a developer device. Instead of the expected legal battle, Microsoft have been in talks with the Chevron developers, discussing the potential for collaboration on ‘homebrew potentials’.

Is this really the new age of Microsoft?
