Future Predictions

When you look at how Mobile Phones started out, (with the first 'must have' being a phone that had 'Snake)', to the technical wizardry that is now commonly found in pockets, handbags and never-too-far from its owner - it is quite a staggering evolution!

Who could have predicted the dawn of mobile internet? Apps? 5 megapixel cameras in your phone?! It is astonishing to think that 10 years ago no one would have guessed at the future.

We now want to ask what you think will be the future of the mobile phone (is it right to even call it a phone? - it is so much more than just a phone these days)?

Apps will be nothing but a memory, like floppy disks and cassette tapes

Internet and Cloud integration will mean that you can do everything you would do on a PC from a phone, anywhere

Advances in Voice to Text technology will allow you to dictate all kinds of messages, and instruct your phone to perform tasks - such as reading out your text messages or emails

Phones will think ahead and link up information - so if you have a meeting scheduled in London on a Tuesday, near Leiceseter Square for example, and you start looking for train times - your phone will automatically look for the bus/tubes that will get you from the train station to your meeting. Phones will become PAs.

Phones will have to-do lists, which will update based on the information on your phone. These could be flagged emails, upcoming Birthdays, or anniversary reminders.

Phones will no longer be recognisable as we know them - but could be incorporated into glasses (like VR), watches, or other shapes/devices not yet invented.
