Flash for Windows Phone 7

PDF print email

Adobe has announced that versions of its Flash Player are heading to all of the major Smartphone platforms, with one obvious exception. In a press release by the company it was announced:

"Flash Player 10.1 is available on Android and Google TV today, with BlackBerry platform, HP webOS 2.0, future versions of Windows® Phone, LiMo, MeeGo, and Symbian OS also expected to support Flash Player 10.1."

With Steve Jobs famously anti Flash stance, it certainly won't be heading to the iPhone at any time in the near future.  However, as Adobe have announced that Flash Player 10.1 was downloaded more than 2 million times from Android Market, it seems unlikely this stance will hurt the Flash Player in the long run.

We look forward to Flash compatibility for Windows Phone 7 in a future update.
